Advisory Service for Actors
Acting Buddy provides practical advice from Industry Experts to better equip actors in getting
that job. Our Experts have dealt with international, professional actors mentoring them
throughout their careers and believe this is something that should be offered to actors of all
levels and ages but sadly is not by agents or personal managers these days. Getting an
insight into the business and learning the tricks of the trade avoids years of trial and error.
We experience FOUR types of actors:

1. NEW or YOUNG ACTOR: come to us with a
limited understanding of the industry, don't
properly understand the different types of
agents, what an agent does or approach agents
in all the wrong ways!

2. RECENT GRADUATE: fresh out of drama
school. We advise them on how to build their
credits, approach theatres, agents and casting
directors and those that might be useful to
specifically target.

3. EXPERIENCED ACTOR: Often disillusioned
with their agent sometimes BIG international
agents so we tell them if their expectations are
in-line with the current market opportunities as
well as working out a strategy to help them
work on their careers. It is amazing how many
agents tell their clients that they don't know
why they are not getting any work but offer NO
advice for the actor to improve their chances
and credits.

4. OVERSEAS ACTOR: Actors who come from
other countries, e.g., China, USA, Australia,
Germany and who want to work in the UK. We
advise them on general work restricitions, their
probability of gaining work in the UK, options in
film, theatre, musical theatre, commercials and
TV, how UK agents/personal managers work
and the differences in formats for showreels,
CVs and formats compared to their country.
